ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Diane Bakos lives in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She has a real-life son, Will, and he really does have a best friend, Mike – but none of them are elves! And one year, Diane and Will really did have what they called “Crazy Christmas.” Starting with Halloween, they left up all of their decorations. At Thanksgiving, they added turkeys and cornucopias. By Christmas, they had elves hanging from giant spider webs, and pumpkins wearing Santa hats. At Easter, they added colored eggs under the Christmas tree, and by the 4th of July – well, by then, it was time to clean up the house!
Diane used to be a TV news anchor/reporter/talk show host, and now she’s an actor. She loves telling stories, whether she’s writing them, or acting them.
Another thing Diane loves is trains! She volunteers for a very special one called The Colebrookdale Railroad. It’s in Boyertown, Pennsylvania. Soon, you’ll be able to come back here and see books about that very train.
In the meantime, she hopes you’ll like WHACK’d. Diane hopes it reminds you to take a chance, sometimes, and to count on your friends to be there for you. Maybe things in your life won’t always turn out the way you expect them to, but something different…can also be something wonderful.
